American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO)
AASHTO is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing highway and transportation departments in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. It represents all five transportation modes: air, highways, public transportation, rail, and water. Its primary goal is to foster the development, operation, and maintenance of an integrated national transportation system.

American Public Transportation Association (APTA)
APTA is a leading force in advancing public transportation, and serves its diverse membership through advocacy, innovation and information sharing. APTA and its members and staff work to ensure that public transportation is available and accessible for all Americans in communities across the country. APTA members are public organizations that are engaged in the areas of bus, paratransit, light rail, commuter rail, subways, waterborne passenger services, and high-speed rail. Members also include large and small companies who plan, design, construct, finance, supply, and operate bus and rail services worldwide. Government agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, state departments of transportation, academic institutions, and trade publications are also part of our membership.

Build America Bureau
The Build America Bureau serves as the single point of contact and coordination for states, municipalities and project sponsors looking to utilize federal transportation expertise, apply for federal transportation credit programs and explore ways to access private capital in public private partnerships. The Build America Bureau's mission is to expand the use of Federal credit programs, innovate new approaches to project development processes and funding challenges, and deliver streamlined technical and financial assistance to accelerate project delivery.

Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Transportation that supports State and local governments in the design, construction, and maintenance of the Nation’s highway system (Federal Aid Highway Program) and various federally and tribal owned lands (Federal Lands Highway Program). Through financial and technical assistance to State and local governments, the Federal Highway Administration is responsible for ensuring that America’s roads and highways continue to be among the safest and most technologically sound in the world.

National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL)
Created in 1975, NCSL is a bipartisan, nonprofit organization that serves the nation's legislators and staff. NCSL is a champion for state legislatures, helping states remain strong by giving them the tools, information and resources to craft the best solutions to a host of difficult problems. NCSL's mission is to improve the quality and effectiveness of state legislatures, promote policy innovation and communication among state legislatures, and ensure state legislatures a strong, cohesive voice in the federal system. NCSL fulfills this mission through a variety of activities to support legislators and staffers, including research projects, written materials, trainings, conferences and other professional development opportunities. All state legislators and staff members are automatically members of NCSL, thus it is one of the most effective channels for reaching state policymakers.
